Bakersfield, CA (3/4/2015) - H&M Motorsports’ Beau Baron clinched his third straight Pro ATV win at round three of the 2015 WORCS series while David Haagsma claimed second in both the Pro ATV and Pro SxS classes.

Canyon MX in Peoria, AZ was the hosting facility for the third round of the series. The course featured a full motocross track, which the team really liked, but the off-road section was treacherous with big rocks, silt beds and cacti’s lining the course, but the team was ready for the challenge and claimed the top two spots on the Pro ATV podium.

Reigning Pro ATV champion, Beau Baron was in third off the start and after a couple of turns moved into the number two spot behind his teammate, David Haagsma. Baron waited for an opportunity to get by and got his way in the second lap and took over the lead. Once out front Baron never looked back and took a commanding win.

“My Sparks engine got me off to a great start and my Maxxis tires and Tire Blocks held up great. I got by Robbie Mitchell and David and I just stayed out front. David was close but I knew I had to stay in front since it is so close. I really enjoyed this race and the track was awesome. I’m looking forward to Havasu and I am hoping for another in there,” said Baron.

David Haagsma, who does exceptionally well on his starts, did not disappoint as he grabbed the holeshot and led for the first lap before settling in to second. Haagsma stayed close to the lead, but a close encounter with a cactus hampered his efforts to retake the lead.

“My Sparks engine fired right up and got me the holeshot but Beau was right behind me and I ended up getting pumped up a bit and he got by me. I stayed close but I made a mistake in one lap and hit a cactus so I had to pull over and pull it out of my arm. I fell back a bit but I got back into second and I got close to Beau again but I ended up in second,” said Haagsma, who is also currently second in Pro ATV points.

The Pro SxS class went well for David Haagsma who was inside the top five off the start. Haagsma soon closed in on the leader, RJ Anderson and inherited the lead when Anderson encountered issues and was forced to pit. Haagsma kept a steady pace while in the lead, but hadn’t realized that another driver was closing in. “I had a great race but I lost track of the second row and didn’t realize another driver was closing on me time wise so, I had slowed down a little to try and save the car but my mechanic told me to speed up a bit but it wasn’t enough. I am still happy with second because I have the championship in my sights and that is the ultimate goal,” said Haagsma, who is the current Pro SxS points leader.

Beau Baron was looking good early in the Pro SxS race and was running in third place in the first lap, but he was plagued with issues and fell back for an 11th place finish. “I made several passes and got into second and was catching the leader but then I lost my brakes, then I broke a rear wheel and my 4WD went out and my steering had issues. I pitted to fix the rear wheel and my 4WD started working again so I just pinned it for the last two laps and did the best I could,” said Baron, who is looking forward to Lake Havasu and a better finish.
