Kaska, PA (4/27/2015) -ATVriders.com
/ Jarrod McClure Racing’s (JMR) rider Jarrod McClure
made his second straight podium appearance at round
five of the Grand National Cross Country series
this past weekend in Springville, IN. Hammering
rains and muddy conditions did not stop Jarrod as
he rounded out the XC1 podium finishing third overall
for the day. JMR teammate XC2 Pro Am racer Randy
Hamilton would not have the same luck making a wrong
turn early on in the race, and then experienced
a mechanical issue that would force him off the
track.

The Lawrence County Recreational Facility would
host the fourth running of the Limestone 100 GNCC
once again in 2015. This facility is a riding
area that has held multiple events, so the woods
are not new to cross country racing. The track
would provide multiple lines for racers on a hard
pack, rocky, beat in trail system that has years
of abuse on it. Rain was in the forecast and would
make for an interesting race on Saturday.
DWT’s McClure pulled his first holeshot of the
year, and put his Baldwin powered Honda into the
muddy woods first. Jarrod navigated the course
cautiously as any wrong move could send him to
the back of the 13-rider pack.

Battery's Jarrod McClure grabbed the GNCC
XC1 Pro ATV Holeshot with his Honda firing
up right away on the line |
“I keep talking about this Ditworks/Aliant Battery
24volt system I am running this year, but it is
one of the only things I changed in my program
and I could not be happier! I grabbed my first
holeshot, which really helped in the conditions
today. There were so many lines out there today
and the track was so slick. I came a little hot
into a section and got yanked into a big rain
rut which dropped me out of the lead” said McClure.
McClure rode in third almost the entire first
lap but another small mistake dropped him to fourth
where he remained until Walker Fowler began to
challenge him. Jarrod and Walker battled for a
while until a lapper blocked McClure allowing
Fowler to get by. Once going again Jarrod came
upon Fowler who had broken and also racer Brycen
Neal who had some mechanical issues due to the
conditions. This put Jarrod into third place where
he remained until he crossed the finish.

Racing's Jarrod McClure throws his goggles
to his pit crew & takes off for another
lap at the muddy Limestone GNCC |
“Today was really a battle between the track
and the lapped riders. It was like slot car racing
out there in the mud, if you got stuck in a groove
behind someone it was near impossible to get out,
I was stuck so many times because of someone else
it is crazy I finished where I did. I became very
frustrated at times but just kept pushing forward,
and I am so happy to be on the podium today” said
McClure.
JMR’s XC2 Pro Am racer Randy Hamilton began
his day with a great start and actually took over
the XC2 lead for a while until he made a wrong
turn in the muddy conditions. Once back on track
Randy worked his way through the mud until unfortunately
a mechanical issue ended his day.
After five rounds of racing Jarrod McClure now
sits third overall XC1 Pro standings and his teammate
Randy Hamilton is holding down fourth in the XC2
Pro Am class. The JMR team will be ready to go
at round 6 in two weeks at the new Tomahawk GNCC.
