East Springfield, PA (3/19/2015)
- JB Racing/Can-Am/Liquid Wrench/Houser’s Larry
Hendershot Jr charged to a top ten finish in the
SxS XC1 Pro class at the opening round of GNCC SxS
racing at the General GNCC in Washington, Georgia.
For 2015, JB Racing, Can-Am, Liquid Wrench, and
Houser Racing teamed up for SxS racing in the
GNCC series, and Larry Hendershot Jr. couldn’t
be happier. “I love my Maverick. The addition
of the Houser parts and support of the JB Racing
team and Liquid Wrench has really made a difference,
and I am excited about this season,” said Hendershot.
With heavy rain drenching the Aonia Pass race
course, the course was extremely muddy and a deep
ruts quickly developed in the red clay, which
made for an extremely challenging race, but JB
Racing’s Larry Hendershot Jr. was ready for the
challenge. Despite slick conditions, Hendershot
Jr. found some traction with his ITP tires for
second place start right behind the race leader.
“We caught up to the leader and stayed close
to him, but a lapper got in between us in the
final few hundred yards on the last lap ,and we
went for a pass. We were right on his bumper,
and our belt went. I was so patient for the whole
race because it was so treacherous and to have
that happen was disheartening because we wanted
that win, but we still finished in seventh, so
we will take that for now and hopefully be on
the podium at Big Buck,” said Hendershot Jr.
Tim Farr put in a valiant effort at the General
GNCC in the XC1 class as well. Farr charged off
of the start and had moved into the lead, but
a broken belt sent him running back to pits for
a replacement. Farr made the repair and finished
the race, but he lost quite a bit of time and
finished in 22nd.
“I’m excited to be back with JB Racing. The Can-Am
Maverick look great and are built really well.
Unfortunately, our first race didn’t go to well,
but that’s part of racing, and we are looking
for a better finish at Big Buck,” said Farr.
The next round of GNCC racing for the JB Racing/Liquid
Wrench SxS team will be on April 11th in Union,
SC at the Big Buck GNCC.
