The rain held off on Saturday, which made for near perfect race conditions at High Point MX in Mt Morris, PA, and for 2015, some new sections were added to the motocross track, which helped mix things up.  “The course was really fun. I liked the changes they made,” said Rastrelli on the track changes.

In the first moto, Rastrelli was in fourth place early in the race, but he found himself in a heated battle for the position. Rastrelli finished the moto with a top five finish. “I had a decent start. My ITP tires hooked up, and I was up in fourth place. There were some good battles that went on, and I ended up in fifth,” said Rastrelli.

In the second moto, Rastrelli got off the start in the eighth spot, but he quickly charged his way into the top five, but unfortunately a rider hit his rear tire spinning him out and putting his quad over.

In Pro Moto 2, Jeffrey Rastrelli was in the running once again for a top five finish until he collided with another racer that put him in the back of the pack with little time to make up ground before the checked flag waved

“It was pretty intense out there. Upperman, Gennusa, and I were all trying to get by Joe Byrd, and I was right on him. I made a couple of attempts, but he is tough to pass. Someone connected with my rear tire, and it spun me out, along with flipping my quad” said Rastrelli.

Rastrelli’s overturn sent him to the back of the pack. Rastrelli made a hard charge and despite putting in some of his fastest lap times of the moto, he was not able to catch back up and finished in fourteenth place for the second moto, giving him ninth overall. “My JB Racing Can-Am was running great out there. I made a couple of passes and I was closing in on some more guys, but I ran out of time,” he explained.

Rastrelli has been quite consistent in his finishes this season and that consistency has him currently fourth in series pro points. “I’m still fourth in points, but I am going to be training hard because I want to be back on the podium at Ironman,” said Rastrelli.

Round five of the 2015 Mt. Dew AMA ATV Motocross Championships will head to Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, IN on May 30th where Jeffrey Rastrelli will be going for a podium finish.
