Hetrick Racing's
Joel Hetrick went 1-1 for the overall
win at Unadilla
|
Hetrick was a dominant force off the start all
weekend. In the first moto, he came out just behind
the leader at the start, but quickly moved to
the front in lap one and cruised to victory.
“The Maxxis Tires and DASA were ripping at the
start,” said Hetrick. “My starts have been on
point all season. I passed Josh Upperman pretty
quickly and put down some good laps. DASA hooked
me up with a stronger motor for this race because
Unadilla is a horsepower track. That helped a
ton. The Elka shocks were really dialed in perfect
by Jay Gobel at Impact Solutions, too. The bike
was just perfect all weekend.”

DASA Racing's
Joel Hetrick grabbed both moto two holeshot
& clinched the SSi Decals Holeshot
Award for the season
|
Hetrick grabbed another holeshot at the start
of Moto 2 and, in the process, clinched the SSI
Decals Holeshot Championship. He led every lap
to win the moto earning his ninth moto victory
of the season.
“I’ve never gotten this many holeshots,” said
Hetrick. “We were hot at the start. I got a little
fatigued at the end, but ended up with the win.
Having that many moto wins and winning all these
specialty awards this year has been really cool.
Now I just want to finish out the year strong
and go for the championship.”

Impact Solution's
Joel Hetrick closed the championship points
gap to 15 with his 1-1 weekend at Unadilla
|
Interestingly, Hetrick earned his first Pro victory
at Unadilla back in 2011. “The fans are amazing
here,” said Hetrick. “It was awesome to come back
to the place where I got my first pro win and
win again.”
Round 9 of the Mt. Dew AMA ATV MX National Championship
heads to RedBud MX in Buchanan, MI July 25-26
where Hetrick will be going for another two moto
sweep in his quest for the Pro Championship
