Seneca, PA (3/16/2015) – Corrosion
Specialties/Hetrick Racing’s Joel Hetrick
had a great run at the first-ever Fly Racing Daytona
ATV Supercross; winning his heat race and taking
second place in the Pro main event.
A late season change gave the #88 of Joel Hetrick a new program with Corrosion Specialties and Walsh Racecraft for the 2015 season and the Daytona ATV Supercross would be his testing ground. The results spoke for themselves that this was a very successful test of Hetrick’s new program. “My new program is going well, and I think this is going to be a good season for us,” said Hetrick.

In his heat race, Hetrick shot off the gate and took the lead. Hetrick held that lead for the entire heat race and took the win by over 9 seconds ahead of second place. “My heat race went great. The quad hooked up, and I got a good start and just stayed out front,” Hetrick said.
When the gate dropped for the Pro main event, Joel Hetrick had a good start and was right behind second place. Hetrick’s Elka Suspension and Maxxis Tires allowed the #88 to push hard and stay close, waiting for an opportunity to get by. Hetrick didn’t have to wait long when the opportunity presented itself and in lap seven he inherited the position. Once there, Hetrick closed in on the leader and went for a pass, but he was shut out. Hetrick stayed close but never had another opportunity to make the pass, and took the checkered flag in the second spot.

“The track was pretty rough but it was a good race, and I am stoked to have the opportunity to be here. I put in solid laps with Chad Wienen right behind me pushing me all the way. I got close to John Natalie, but it didn’t happen. I pushed really hard, but I ran out of time,” said Hetrick.
