Tempe, AZ (1/21/2015) - Matt Hancock started his 2015 WORCS series off right with a second place podium finish in the Pro-am and Open A ATV classes and a second place finish in the SxS 1000 class aboard his new Can-Am Maverick.

While Matt Hancock’s ATV program is pretty much the same as last season with his Sparks Racing/Maxxis Tires Honda, his SxS program has changed completely after scoring a deal with Can-Am to run the 2015 Can-Am Maverick in both the SxS 1000 and SxS Pro classes.  “I never thought I would be in the position to drive for a factory team, especially a team like Can-Am. I knew it was a great opportunity for me, and I took,” said Hancock.

Hancock’s debut run with the Can-Am Maverick landed him a second place finish in the SxS 1000 class despite getting stuck behind a big pile up off the start, which put him at the back of the pack. “There was a pile up and I had to come up from the back of the pack, and I just kept going. I knew if I finished that I had a good shot of being on the podium. I am really happy with my finish, especially to put the Can-Am on the podium in my first race with it,” exclaimed Hancock.

Hancock also did well in his first SxS Pro race. After a second row start that left him in 15th place, Hancock stayed consistent and drove his way to an eighth place finish. “We’ve never ran anything like the Maverick so we are still figuring out how to get things dialed in and get things faster. I think as the year goes on we’re going to keep on improving and I can’t ask for much more,” said Hancock.

Matt Hancock also had a very successful start to his season in the Pro-am ATV class as he battled his way to the podium. Hancock grabbed the holeshot, but fell back to the number three spot for a short time. Hancock stayed close to the leaders and moved into second place in the first lap. Hancock rode a solid and fast race, taking a respectable second place finish.

“My Sparks Motor and Maxxis tires worked great together and got me the holeshot. I plan to train harder and get on top of the box at Primm,” said Hancock.

In the Open A ATV class, Hancock started off in the number three spot and worked his way up to another solid second place finish. “My ATV program is pretty much the same as last season with my Sparks engine, Maxxis Tires and Elka shocks, which are working amazing for me again this year,” said Hancock.

The second round of the 2015 WORCS series will head to Buffalo Bill’s in Primm, NV on February 6-8 where Matt Hancock will be going for the top of the podium.
