Tempe, AZ (4/2/2015) - Pro Motorsports’ Matt Hancock finished third in the SxS Unlimited class at round four of the 2015 WORCS series in Lake Havasu, AZ and also claimed second in Open A ATV class, while Jeff Hancock rounded out the top five in the Pro ATV class.

Rough conditions and hot temperatures were on hand for the weekend’s races at Lake Havasu, AZ but Matt and Jeff Hancock were both up to the challenging weekend of racing.

For Saturday’s SxS races, Matt Hancock had a good run in the SxS Unlimited class with a third place finish. “I ran the turbo Maverick in the Unlimited class, and it was crazy fast. It was really rough out there though so you had to be careful, but overall we had a good race and I am happy with a third place finish,” said Hancock.

In the Pro SxS class, Hancock was on the second row for the start and was in mid pack heading into the second lap. “I came into this race knowing a lot of people were going to break, so finishing was really important, and the Maverick did just that,” said Hancock.

Hancock drove smart and stayed focused through the tough race and claimed a seventh place finish at the checkered flag. “Some of the guys that were ahead of me in points, broke out there, so that put me up in about fifth in points, and I am happy about that,” said Hancock.

In the ATV classes, Matt Hancock was looking strong in the Open A class as got out to the early lead by grabbing the Holesot. “My Maxxis Tires hooked up and I had a great start. It was one of the roughest races we have had, but my Elka shocks and Roll Design suspension worked great. I tried to find good lines and I was able to pull away from the rest of the pack,” said Hancock, who claimed a second place finish by over a minute ahead of the rest of the pack.

For the Pro-am class, Hancock was in third off the start. “My Sparks motor ripped off the start and put me in the top three,” said Hancock.

Hancock set a good pace and battled back and forth for the first couple of laps. Hancock was pushing hard and finished in fifth place at the checkered flag. “It was really rough out there, but my Pro Motorsports quad ran great, and I was able to finish the race. It’s not what I wanted, but next round I’m going for the win,” said Hancock.

Jeff Hancock came into this round without having the advantage of getting in any practice before hand and suffered the consequences on the lagoon jump. “The first time I hit the jump, I hit it as hard as I could. The next time I tried it a gear lower and flat landed. I gave up after that and just went around,” said Hancock, who injured his wrist in the process.

Despite the injury, Hancock continued on and still had a solid race and a good finish as he rounded out the top five in the Pro class. “It was rough out here ten years ago when I was racing and it’s still just as rough now, so I am just glad I finished. I have to thank Pro Motorsports for putting together such a good quad for me. It handled everything out there,” said Hancock.

Round five of the 2015 WORCS series heads to Sand Hollow in Hurricane, UT on April 18-19th.
