Tempe, AZ (10/5/2015) - Pro Motorsports’ Matt and Jeff Hancock were both present and accounted for last weekend during the eight round of the WORCS series held at Glen Helen Raceway. Matt Hancock earned three podium finishes for a successful weekend of racing.

In Side-by-Side racing, Matt Hancock finished second in the Unlimited Class and fifth in the Pro race. In Unlimited, he ran a smooth race, starting second and taking the lead at the midpoint of the race. He fell to second on the final lap and finished with his third podium finish of the season.

“The track was super-fast; it was dry and slick and the Maxxis tires hooked up great, putting that can-am turbo power down to the ground. My ELKA shocks worked awesome, getting me through some of the bigger rocks and whoops sections”, said Hancock.

The Pro Side-by-Side race was a tale of survival, and Matt Hancock was caught with much of the field in a first-turn melee, and the brutal course took its toll on many of the racers, but Hancock and his Maverick was up to the challenge and secured a top five finish.

“There was a bunch of carnage and I got caught in it; I went off the track and dropped to dead last,” said Hancock. “I started pushing and wanted to finish the race. There were some really big rocks, so between the Tire Blocks, Maxxis Tires and Method Wheels, they really carried me through. I finished and got some valuable points.”

In ATV competition, Hancock scored a second-place finish in Open A and recorded a third-place effort in Pro-Am. In Open A, Hancock ran a smooth pace to net his seventh podium of the season.

“I got a decent start, set my pace and moved up to third place,” said Hancock. “I took second on the last lap and rode my own race. It was pretty hot out there. There was really no catching the leader, so I ran steady and maintained some energy for Sunday’s race.”

In Pro Am ATV, Hancock said he set his pace a little too slow at the start, but hard work on his Honda paid off with his fifth podium of the season.

“The Maxxis Tires really put the power to the ground in the Pro Am race,” said Hancock. “I set my pace a little too slow at the start. I picked it up and ran down some guys to get up to third. We put down some pretty fast laps. My ELKA shocks worked flawlessly.”

Jeff Hancock sat out of the SxS racing this weekend and he attempted to make a run in the pro ATV race on Sunday, but he was having issues holding on and ended his race day early.

“My arms were going numb and I couldn’t feel my hands,” said Jeff Hancock. “I wasn’t in the points chase and didn’t want to risk it, so I pulled off before I got hurt. I wanted to be out there, but I needed to sit this one out.”

The Hancock brothers will be back in action for Round 9 and the season finale for the WORCS Series Oct. 16-18 in Primm, NV.
