Powerline Park - Round 12

Holland, MI (10/22/2015) - Racer Tech’s William Yokley shook off the bad luck that has plagued him all season and scored a fourth-place finish in the XC1 Side by Side GNCC Race at Powerline Park in St. Clairsville, OH. Sean Bogden’s second-place finish put him into the points lead in XC2 ,and Sam Yokley brought home another Single Seat win.

With sub-freezing temperatures in the morning and and overcast skies all weekend, Racer Tech’s drivers had a lot to contend with on track and relied heavily on their Racer Tech-equipped utility vehicles to pull them through.

Yokley started at the back of the field for the event, worked through traffic and made up an immense amount of time to net the top five. The multi-time GNCC UTV champion was pleased that his season finally turned around.

“It was a long day; it always is when you start in the back,” said Yokley. “By the end of the first lap, I was 15th. I had to work through the traffic. Every time I got going, I was held up again, so I tried to make up as much time as I could while I was working through traffic. The machine worked really well. I drove the guts out of it, and I beat it to death, but it held together for me.”

Yokley has been a development driver for Racer Tech all season in his Polaris RZR and credits the components for their durability.

“We have not changed any of the Racer Tech parts from the first race,” said Yokley. “With all of the discussions we had, they really hit the nail on the head with the suspension. I haven’t had to change anything on my suspension from the first race. It’s one of the easiest handling cars I’ve ever raced.”

Marcus Pratt finished sixth in the XC1 race after losing the course while attempting to avoid a traffic jam. Pratt’s brother Mouse finished 12th after losing his brakes and having to run the entire race in low gear.

“We just came to a standstill, so I just tried to go through the woods, and I lost the track,” said Marcus Pratt. “So we had to backtrack to make sure we weren’t cheating. so that one lap cost me two minutes, which cost me a podium finish.”

Pratt said his Racer Tech components have always given him a competitive advantage. “My Racer Tech components have held up really well,” said Pratt. “It takes a great manufacturer to keep things going in this series and Racer Tech is up to the challenge.”

Sam Yokley led every lap and won the Polaris Ace single seat race. “I nearly flipped a couple of times, but I held on for the win,” said Yokley. “The course was a little slick in some spots, but Racer Productions put together a great course for us. The Racer Tech A-arms did very well. They really held strong going through the rocks and the roots.”

Sean Bogden’s second place finish in XC2 was enough to place him into the points lead going into the final race of the season.  “I knew who I had to beat to get into the points race,” said Bogden. “I was running third in the woods and ate a lot of dust. The track got slick and I was able to fight my way up. Everyone on the team did a great job working together.

“The Racer Tech components were perfect, as always,” added Bogden. “I was using my Racer Tech nerf bars to get around the corners and the trees. They kept me up front all day.”

The Racer Tech team’s thoughts and prayers go out to Scott Kiger, who was sidelined at Powerline Park while he recovers from some recent health problems.

The Racer Tech crew will be running for victory as GNCC heads to the season finale October 31 in Crawfordsville, IN.
