La Crosse, WI (6/10/2015) - Root
River Racing’s Sam Rowe claimed four holeshots,
and clinched the win in both the Pro-am and Pro
Sport classes for a perfect weekend, while Megan
Manshack grabbed another Women’s class win at round
five of the 2015 Mt. Dew AMA ATV Motocross Championships
at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, IN.
Heavy rains move in on Saturday afternoon, soaking
the course and delaying some races, but the Root
River Racing team weathered the storm and came
away with strong performances and good finishes.
Root River Racing’s Sam Rowe took his first wins
of the season at the inaugural round at Ironman
Raceway. Rowe was on fire in the Pro-am class
as he grabbed the holeshot and checked out. Rowe
kept a fast pace and increased his lead with every
lap and took the moto one win by over five seconds.
Moto two was almost a repeat performance for Rowe,
with another holeshot and moto win, giving him
his first win of the season.

Not only did Sam Rowe dominate the Pro-am class,
he also took control in the Pro Sport class and
dominated with both holeshots and moto wins. “I
had a great weekend. I grabbed four holeshots
and took four moto wins. It couldn’t have gone
any better. It was my first ever Pro-am win, and
I am really excited. My ITP Tires hooked up so
well in the mud, and my Rage ATV engine pulled
really strong all weekend,” said Rowe.
Megan Manshack continued to dominate in the Women’s
class and after grabbing both moto wins, she continued
on to take both moto wins for the top spot on
the podium. Manshack’s continued domination of
the class has given her a 25 point advantage over
second place and closer to winning another championship.
“There was some rain and it got muddy for the
first moto, but for the second moto the track
cleared out good and it was pretty awesome. I
loved the track and I had a great time out there.
I am really excited to get another win and I am
really looking forward to the next round,” said
Manshack.
Tyler Mack also had a fantastic weekend and clinched
the overall win in both the Production B and 450
B classes. “I had a great weekend. I won three
out of four motos, and I have the points lead
in Production B. It was muddy on Sunday but my
Root River Racing quad held up great and got me
my first holeshot of the season. We really have
things figured out, and I feel really comfortable,
and I think we are going to be on the podium for
the rest of the season,” said Mack.
Johannah Vossman had good results in the Schoolgirl
class. Vossman grabbed the moto one holeshot and
was in the lead but fell back after coming up
short on a jump and almost crashing, giving her
a fourth place finish. Vossman came back strong
for moto two and grabbed the holeshot again and
held her lead from start to finish for her first
moto win of the season, putting her in second
place overall for the day. “I had two great holeshots.
I almost crashed in the first moto after I cased
a jump and I fell back but moto two went great.
I grabbed another holeshot and stayed out front
and got the win. That’s my first moto win in that
class and I am really excited and I can’t wait
for Sunset Ridge,” said Vossman, who also claimed
ninth overall in the Youth All Star class.
Haedyn Mickelson had a good race in the 450 A
class. In the first moto, Mickelson was in third
and ran a smooth race to finish in third. Moto
two Mickelson also had a good start and battled
his way into the number two spot. “In the second
moto I had a decent start in about fifth and got
a couple of passes right away and there was a
big battle for second. By the time I pulled away,
I didn’t have time to catch the leader, but I
still had a good race and I know I have the speed
to run up front,” said Mickelson, who claimed
second overall.
Dalton Hicks came away with two top five finishes
with a fourth place overall in Production A and
fifth overall in 450 A while Tommy Vossman finished
sixth in Open B and eleventh overall in Production
B.
Round six of the 2015 Mt. Dew AMA ATV motocross
Championship will have the Root River Racing team
heading to Sunset Ridge in Walnut, IL on June
13-14th, where they will be going for the top
of the podium
