Las Vegas, NV (5/12/2015) - Goldspeed’s Ty Sanders charged his way to a fourth place finish in the Pro-am ATV class at round five of the 2015 WORCS series at Sand Hollow in Hurricane, UT.

Long laps and rough conditions were on tap for round five of the WORCS series, but Ty Sanders was ready for action and earned his best finish of the season in the Pro-am class while facing a health issue. Sanders was having severe abdominal pain after Lake Havasu, and was told he was having gall bladder issues. Sanders decided to hold off on surgery and braved the pain for Sand Hollow.

For Sunday’s Pro-am race, Sanders encountered some issues early in the race and fell back. Sanders was able to make a hard charge and moved up to fourth place. “I got up to fourth, and I started cramping up really bad. I just had to stay focused and power through the pain,” he stated.

Sanders did just that and held down the number four spot for two laps before reaching the checkered flag. “My Goldspeed original sand tires were working great out there. I have been using them for three years now. They are the same tires I always take to the dunes, and I just love them,” said Sanders.

Ty Sanders is currently fourth in Pro-am points and is only four points off of third place. Sanders is determined to break into the top three at Cedar City.

Despite battling through gull bladder pain, Ty Sanders earned fourth place in the Pro-Am Class at WORCS Round 5

In the Production A class on Saturday, Sanders was doing well but ended up stalling out while battling for position and could not get his quad to re-fire. “I was in third and I was trying to get back around second, and I stalled out and couldn’t get it to start for like ten minutes and that set me back, and I ended up in tenth,” explained Sanders.

After racing all weekend at Sand Hollow, Sanders went in for surgery on Monday to have his gall bladder removed, and the surgery was a success.  With several weeks to heal up, Sanders plan to be back in action at round six of the 2015 WORCS series in Cedar City UT on May 22-24th, where he is going for a podium finish.
