Las Vegas, NV (8/7/2015) - Goldspeed’s Ty Sanders held on through bad luck and mechanical problems over the weekend at Straddleline ORV Park for Round 7 of WORCS Racing series. The Pro-Am rider gained points and experience at this difficult tree-lined track in Olympia, WA.

The weekend’s race was unique in that it was split into two points races: The WORCS-X held on an Enduro Cross track on Saturday evening along with the regular WORCS Main event on Sunday. With unusual dry and hot weather this summer in Washington, Sanders faced dusty conditions in the woods.

Sanders had difficulty from his first lap. “This weekend started out bad from the get go,” explained Sanders. “We went out to make a sight lap on Friday. The first jump we did, the bike spit the chain through the back of the engine. Then I came up short on one of the doubles and compounded my knee and my ankle. My whole foot and leg is black and blue.”

In the end, Sanders finished tenth in the WORCS X race and seventh in the WORCS race after impacting a tree early in the event. He currently sits fifth in points.

“It was just survival of the fittest,” said Sanders. “We started the Pro Am race second, and then we stuck it into a tree. My leg and my knee just gave out. We salvaged some points, and we’ll be strong at Glen Helen.”

Sanders did his best, considering his injuries. “My Goldspeed tires were working great,” said Sanders. “This track is usually damp this time of year, so the Goldspeed tires took to the dust here very well.”

In the Production A class, Sanders had equally rotten luck with a stall late in the race relegating him to a ninth-place result.

Sanders will be healed and ready as the WORCS Series heads to California September 25-27th for Round 8 at Glen Helen.
