Moreno Valley, CA (6/16/2016)
- BDR Motorsports’ Larry Heidler came back
from finished third in the STI QuadX Pro UTV
season finale at Glen Helen Raceway. The finish
put him third in the Pro UTV championship
against some stiff competition.
Heidler considers Glen Helen his home track.
The rough conditions due to the recent AMA
Motocross race perfectly suited his driving
style.

“I got my car prepped and got ready for the
QuadX race,” said Heidler. “BDR Motorsports
kept my car running perfectly all season.
I didn’t have any DNFs and the car was flawless
all year. The track was really rough, but
my Fox shocks worked excellent. The car handled
great with the GBC tires.”
Heidler broke an axle in the first moto after
contact with another rider and finished fifth.
“It was a bit of a crash up derby,” said Heidler.
“I was fourth at the start and there was a
lot of banging. It got a little bump on that
first lap and hung on for fifth.”
In the second moto, Heidler ran in two-wheel
drive to finish fourth. “I didn’t have a replacement
axle, so I pulled out the axles and unhooked
the front CV,” said Heidler. “I came out fifth
at the start, made some good progress and
finished the moto in fourth.”

Heidler said his finish in the title chase
didn’t sink in right away. It proves just
how hard his BDR team worked this year. “I
try not to play the numbers game in my head
when I’m racing,” said Heidler. “It didn’t
really hit me until I got back to the trailer.
I’m excited. It took a lot of hard work to
get here. To finish in the top five in any
series takes a lot of preparation, a good
car and a good team.”
Heidler is planning to run a DIRT race prior
to returning the WORCS series in September
at Glen Helen. “My main focus for the rest
of the year is the pro class in WORCS,” said
Heilder. “Glen Helen is definitely my home
track, and it’s my favorite track, so I can’t
wait till the WORCS race here in September.”
Heidler will be back in action September
16-18 at Glen Helen Raceway when WORCS Series
returns from its summer break.
