Moreno Valley, CA (1/15/2016) - BDR Motorsports’ Larry Heidler battled back from visibility problems and horsepower issues to finish ninth during the WORCS Side by Side Pro race at Honolulu Hills Raceway.
With pro race held just before sunset, Heidler’s goggle choice held him back, an error he doesn’t plan to repeat. Early in the race, he ran as high as the top five before falling back as darkness fell.

“The weekend went well overall,” said Heidler. “I made a mistake in running tinted goggles. I struggled trying to see when it got dark. The track was awesome. The sky jump is always a crowd pleaser.”
Heidler is also running a 900cc Polaris RZR in a class dominated by 1000cc machines. He made up for the horsepower disadvantage with a great set of FOX Shocks, which were a perfect choice on the Honolulu Hills track, known for its big jumps and choppy racing surface.

“I’m running the Fox 2.5 shocks on the front and rear,” said Heidler. “They work awesome. There were a lot of big holes and chop on the course, so these really handled it well.”
Heidler is backed by BDR Motorsports. BDR’s Darrell Patton handles wrenching and setup on Heidler’s Polaris.
“BDR really stepped up a lot the last couple of years,” said Heidler. “Darrell is doing all of mechanic work. He is very meticulous in keeping my vehicles going.”
Heidler will bring that meticulous approach
to the next round of WORCS January 29-31 at
Buffalo Bills in Primm. NV.
