CST’s Beau Baron Extends WORCS Points Lead
Beau Baron Recovers from Hard Crash to Finish Third at Mesquite

Atascadero, CA (5/10/2016) - CST’s Beau Baron recovered from a hard crash while leading on the final lap to finish third in the WORCS Pro ATV Race at Mesquite MX in Nevada. Because the SXS classes didn’t run this round, Baron also raced his dirt bike to victory in the Plus 30 Expert Motorcycle race.

The race was held under ideal weather conditions with unseasonably cool temperatures at the challenging track. While Baron admitted to having bad luck here over the years, he still came away with some valuable points.

After grabbing the holeshot, Baron was dominating when he hit a rock on the final lap and crashed hard. He recovered to finish third, which ended his win streak at five straight races to start the year. His third-place finish keeps him atop the championship standings with 28-point lead on second place.

“Mesquite has never been my favorite track; I’ve lost a few championships here,” said Baron. “The Sparks Motor pulled really hard with the CST Tires. The Elka suspension was awesome and my hat is off to Roll Design; their arms are unbeatable.”

Baron looked to dominate, just as he has in every race this year. While the hard crash would have likely stopped most competitors in their tracks, Baron quickly got back on his quad and scored a podium, despite a bent tie rod.

“I got off to a great start and pulled off a big lead,” said Baron. “I saw the white flag and was ready to cruise to win. On this fifth-gear straightaway, I didn’t see a big rock. I hit it and cartwheeled. I got up, and I was seeing stars. I couldn’t steer it because I had bent my tie rod badly. They beat me to the finish line, but I’ll take a third here because I’ve had my share of bad luck at this track over the years. My win streak is over, but it’s all good because I have a really good points gap.”

While Baron is in the running for the Big Six Pro 2 Championship on his motorcycle, he hasn’t raced his motorcycle at the WORCS series till this round since there wasn’t any SxS racing, and he secured the win in the 30+ A class.  Baron took home the win with nearly two minutes to spare over second place.

Baron will return to action in both the ATV and SXS classes as WORCS heads to Iron Mine Race Park in Cedar City, UT May 27-29.
