Can-Am’s David Martinez Wins Mint 400 Pro Unlimited
David Martinez Takes the Win in just his third BITD event

Las Vegas, NV (3/14/2016) - Can-Am’s David Martinez took his #2905 Maverick to victory lane at Americas historic off-road race the Mint 400 in the Pro Unlimited Class. It marked Martinez’s first Best in the Desert victory in just his third start.

A standout racer for Can-Am in WORCS competition, Martinez made the switch to BITD to compete this year. He had a perfect day at the legendary Mint 400.

“It was just an epic day,” said Martinez. “This was a long time coming and I couldn’t have asked for a better setting than the Mint 400. To put Can-Am on the top of the podium at such a prestigious race as this was just amazing. We didn’t have one failure today. I went out with a game plan to finish strong. I wanted to keep the car together: driving smart, clean and consistent. “The Can-Am was just flawless today.”

Martinez’s racing effort is supported in large part by his family. In fact, he dedicated his victory to his mother, Beverly, who was celebrating her 70th birthday on race day.

“She really makes this a family affair,” said Martinez. “It was her birthday week and she was just beside herself when I came thru with the top spot. My dad has been a pinnacle of support, wrenching day and night to make this win happen.”

Martinez also thanked his long list of sponsors. “I can’t say enough about our 2016 sponsors,” said Martinez. “Can-Am provided the car for us and it feels so awesome to finally bring the top spot home for them at such a historical event. Rugged Radios stepped up with unmatched communications. ITP tires & wheels didn’t have one flat today, which speaks in volume when given the terrain and miles. S3 Powersports provided the toughest long travel kit on the market. Fox Racing Shox took anything the course could throw at us with comfort & ease. Motul lubricants kept the motor strong and cool under pressure. Beard Seats kept us in plush comfort the whole way. KC HiLites turned night into day. Craft Union Engineering for prepping the car to the next level. I feel we have found a winning platform of sponsors, products & support crew to flourish from this race season. “Thanks to all that believed in us”

Martinez will be back in action May 5-8 during the Laughlin Desert Classic, Round 4 of the Best in the Desert Championship.
