GBC’s Jason Luburgh Wins Third Terracross Championship
Jason Luburgh Takes Second in Shoot Out Terracross Championship
Zanesville, OH (10/5/2016) - GBC’s Jason Luburgh won three races en route to a dominating third consecutive Mystik Lubricants Terracross Pro RZR Championship. Luburgh finished the season off right with a victory in the final race of the season, outside Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC. Luburgh also finished second in points in the Mystik Shootout Racer vs Celebrity vs Women class.

Luburgh, who was also tasked with building the
two tracks on which the series competed, was happy
to earn consistent victories this season. Interestingly,
his first Terracross title came with no victories
and he won just one race en route to last year’s
title. This year, however, there were no questions
as he won the title by 20 points, sealing it with
a victory.
“I finally found that
fine line between breaking the RZR and winning,
and I’m really comfortable,” said
Luburgh, who battled muddy conditions all weekend
in the season finale. “The weekend turned
out really well today considering what we had
going on. I pulled the holeshot and just won and
it was nice to start out front.”

Luburgh was pleased to bring
GBC Tires to the series. He runs GBC’s Mongrel
UTV tire on his RZR. “I wouldn’t be
here without GBC Tires,” said Luburgh. “I
love the Mongrel and I’m glad I got to run
them instead of another tire. I’m really
glad to have them onboard with Bikeman Performance
and with the Terracross team.”
Luburgh’s second-place finish in the Shootout class came on the merit of two victories in four races, included the last one. The Shootout field is set by the top four finishers in each class during the weekend. Since Luburgh finished fifth in one of the Pro races, he earned his points position after actually missing one of the four rounds.

“It feels good to end
my season this way because this is the last race
I’m going to do this season,” said
Luburgh. “It’s so good to come out
with two wins. This is an amazing class. It brings
everyone together and this class idolizes what
Terracross is all about.”
Luburgh was also proud of his sister Jami Luburgh Ward, who finished third in the Women Class championship. Jami scored four podiums in five races this season. “I’m so excited to have Jami here,” said Jason Luburgh. “Her boys are here, my mom is here and it’s fun having all of the family here.”
With the level of competitiveness in Terracross, winning one championship is considered an amazing feat. Winning three consecutive titles is unheard of. “The odds were definitely not in my favor to win three in a row,” said Luburgh. “It was nice to end it on a good note and I’m pumped.”
With the 2016 Terracross season coming to end, look for Luburgh to continue his winning ways next season.
