David Haagsma Wins Quad X ATV & UTV Championship
David Haagsma Sweeps Season Finale Motos for Quad-X Championship

Bakersfield, CA (6/16/2016) - H&M Motorsports’ David Haagsma had a perfect weekend as he won all of the motos contested in both ATV and UTV racing during the STI QuadX season finale at Glen Helen Raceway. In the process, he walked away with his fourth straight Pro ATV Championship and second straight Pro UTV Championship.

In the UTV race, Haagsma used his Sparks engine and Maxxis Tires to dominate both moto starts and ran away with the events, leading every lap.

“We had two holeshots by at least a couple of car lengths, so the Sparks Motor and Maxxis Tires were definitely a great combination,” said Haagsma. “We brought the RZR I usually use in WORCS, and it definitely out-powered everyone else out there. We were only four points ahead in the championship coming into this race. We had the quad title wrapped up before the weekend, but the UTV championship was definitely up in the air. There was a good turnout with 12 Pro UTVs, so getting the holeshot was key.”

In the Pro ATV race, Haagsma hung back at the start in moto one and worked his way through the field to take the victory. In moto two, he snagged the holeshot and never looked back.

“I took off late in the first moto to keep it more interesting and I had a pretty good battle with the leader at the end, and I won,” said Haagsma. “I got the holeshot in the second moto and pretty much checked out.”

Haagsma quickly left the West Coast and headed to North Carolina to train for the next AMA ATV Motocross National Championship race at Sunset Ridge. Haagsma comes off his season best finish of fifth going into this race and has his sights set firmly on the podium.

“I’ve been working out and getting ready for Sunset Ridge,” said Haagsma. “It feels good coming into this one. This is a track that suits me pretty well and I hope to get on the podium this weekend.”

Haagsma heads into Round 7 of the AMA ATV Motocross National Championship June 18-29 at Sunset Ridge MX in Walnut, IL.
