H&M Motorsports' David Haagsma Wins SxS WORCS Round 2
WORCS Racing - Round 2 - Buffalo Bills

Bakersfield, CA (2/8/2016) - H&M Motorsports’ David Haagsma won the Pro Side by Side event and finished fifth in the Pro ATV race during Round 2 of the WORCS Championship at Buffalo Bill’s Casino and Resort.

Haagsma, who is using the first few WORCS events to prepare for a full assault on the AMA Pro ATV Motocross Championship, ran a flawless race to win the Side by Side race. Haagsma made his way through the field, and finished first, 10 seconds ahead of the runner-up.

“This turned out to be a perfect race and the RZR was perfect,” added Haagsma. “I wish we had a little better luck in the first race. I was in the top three when we threw a belt. But a lot of people had trouble here and it’s a long season so we’re definitely still in the championship hunt.”

Haagsma was on course to score the double in the ATV race. After taking the lead on the first lap, Haagsma was checking out on the field when a freak mechanical issue sidelined him a half of a lap from the finish. His lead was so great in fact, that it was enough to give him fifth.

“I had a great start,” said Haagsma. “I was running my own race. I felt great and the bike was running great. On the last lap, I had a mechanical problem and I couldn’t finish the race. There was nothing I could do. Beau (Baron) is a great guy. He wanted to tow me in. I’m not running for points, so I told him to go on. I really want to focus on my efforts out East.“

Haagsma is planning to run the balance of the WORCS Side by Side Championship, but won’t compete on an ATV as the Series heads to Las Vegas February 26-28 for Round 3 at the South Point Hotel and Arenas. Make sure to watch as Haagsma hits Daytona International Speedway on March 8 for the AMA Pro Mountain Dew ATV Motocross National Championship season opener.
