Fourth at Steele Creek GNCC
JMR Racing GNCC Racing Round Three Race Report
Morganton, NC (4/8/2016) - JMR / ATVriders.com rider Randy Hamilton pulled another holeshot and finished fourth in the XC2 Pro Am class this past weekend at round three of the Grand National Cross Country Series in Morganton, NC. Hamilton commanded the early lead, and battled in the top five all day but just missed the final podium position at the checkers. JMR teammate XC1 Pro Rider Jarrod McClure ran into some bad luck having a mechanical issue drop him out of the race while running down the leaders on the third lap.
Round three of the GNCC series retuned to the Steele Creek campground in Morganton NC. This track has been on the circuit for years and was the first race where riders would see typical GNCC terrain, steep hill climbs, creek crossings, and tight technical woods. Rain came down on Friday and conditions were near perfect for the start of the race.
Bel Ray’s Randy Hamilton got off to a great start grabbing the XC2 holeshot and led the beginning of the race. Hamilton made a small mistake missing a turn and dropped back a few positions, due to how tight the racing was.

“My Honda TRX450R lit right up today with the 24 volt Dirtworks battery system we run, and my Big Nutz motor really put out the power to get me out front early. A good start is super important at this place, and one wrong move can really set you back ”, said Hamilton.
Hamilton stayed in the top five all day battling with Marty Christofferson and Cody Collier and even swapping positions a few times with them. At the checkers Randy had just missed the podium again and settled for fourth for the day.

“Another fourth place is good, I’ll take the points for the day, go home and work harder. The goal is to get on the podium every race and I know we can do it”, said Hamilton on the days results.
JMR’s XC1 Pro racer Jarrod McClure found himself battling his way through the pack early on. McClure had worked his way all the way up into sixth by the third lap closing in on Chris Borich and Brycen Neal, when a mechanical problem ended his day early.
