The Ironman GNCC is always the last stop of the
GNCC series in Crawfordsville, Indiana. The old
“Always save the best for last” quote can be used
at this race because it is definitely a favorite
among a majority of racers. The facility brings
to the table everything a GNCC track could offer,
steep hills, creek crossings, tight woods, and
open fields. The track conditions were near perfect
for the day as racers headed to the start to let
it all hang out at the last race of the season.
DWT’s Jarrod McClure pulled a great start going
into the woods in the fourth place position. Jarrod
quickly worked his way up into second place behind
Adam Mcgill but was soon passed back by Chris
Borich and Brycen Neal coming onto the end of
lap one.

DWT's Jarrod
McClure charged his way into the lead
in lap 4, which he held to the checkered
flag for the win
|
“It was nice to get out front early here, I made
some quick moves and worked my way into second
but then Borich got by me in the fields and Brycen
also passed me on a nice line in the woods. I
knew I just had to stay smooth and keep the pressure
on the front guys“, said McClure.
McClure was able to get around both Neal and
Borich and latch onto Adam Mcgill for the second
time during the race and the duo of Baldwin powered
Hondas began to gap the field. At about the halfway
point Adam encountered a mechanical issue allowing
Jarrod a clear track where he was able to charge
to the finish with nearly a three minute lead
over second place.
“It is so awesome to end the season like this,
it felt great to be out front for most of the
race having fun with no pressure. These are the
rides you dream of and its awesome to see hard
work pay off.“ said McClure.
JMR’s XC2 Pro Am racer Randy Hamilton pulled
another holeshot in the XC2 Pro Am Class, but
hit a tree early on and bent his frame taking
him out of the fight for the win. Randy battled
with Greg Covert much of the race and despite
having a bent frame was able to hold off Covert
and finish second for the day.

JMR's Randy
Hamilton grabbed the Pro-Am XC2 Holeshot
& went on to finish in 2nd place &
14th overall for the year
|
“My Big Nutz Racing powered motor pulled another
awesome holeshot in the XC2 class and got me out
front again. After hitting the tree, I knew something
was bent so I took a lap to adjust and figure
out how to ride the machine. I am happy with the
second place after the crash but would have loved
to get the win ”, said Hamilton.
Final results for the season are Jarrod McClure
finishing fourth overall in the XC1 Pro class,
while his team mate Randy Hamilton finished fourth
in the XC2 Pro Am class and 14th overall for the
year. The JMR team cannot thank there sponsors
enough for all the support and plan on coming
back next year with an even stronger program.
