On the first lap of the first moto Rastrelli and Chad Wienen locked wheels, and by the time Rastrelli got his bike going again, he was in last place with a lot of ground to make up before he caught the pack of racers again. “I just put my head down and tried to ride a strong race and gain as many points as possible,” explained Rastrelli.

With unquestionable resilience, Rastrelli worked his way through the pack all the way up to seventh place by the checkered flag. “I was just happy to come out seventh that moto and salvage as many points as possible,” said Rastrelli.

Rastrelli came back in moto two and finished in third, which boosted him to a fourth place overall. “I did not have that good of a start, but made my way up there pretty quick. First moto I wore myself out, so halfway through the second moto I got a little winded and could not push like I wanted to, but it was a good race. It was of course not what I wanted, I want on that podium but we are training hard for Soaring Eagle and we will be ready.”

With the tough luck Rastrelli faced at Loretta’s, his sponsors were more important that ever in supporting him and helping him to salvage as many points as possible. “The PEP shocks, Goldspeed tires, JB components, and Baldwin motor really put together a good combination for me this year. We are making big strides every time we test. The bike handled really awesome at Loretta’s,” stated Rastrelli.

As usual, Rastrelli has maintained a positive outlook through all the struggles and is looking forward to the final round of the season. “Overall after all the adversity I suffered, I believe it was a good race for me. I am third in points still so everything is still looking good.”

Rastrelli will return to racing at the twelfth and final round of the 2016 Pro AMA ATV Motocross National Championship at The Edge of Summer Soaring Eagle Resort in Mount Pleasant, MI September 9th.
