Rastrelli has been battling health issues for
a large portion of the season but he finally seems
to be turning his luck around. Prior to Unadilla,
Rastrelli got his health straightened out and
spent time at a local race in Pennsylvania with
fellow Pro racers Joel Hetrick and David Haagsma.
“I have been getting better and better each race.
My health is pretty much what has been holding
me back and now we are getting that figured out,”
explained Rastrelli.
Pro moto one was monumental for Rastrelli when
he took his very first Pro class holeshot of his
career. “It was a great feeling. My Baldwin Motorsports
motor was on point this weekend. I appreciate
Mark Baldwin doing that for me, it really helps,”
stated Rastrelli.

Following his first ever holeshot, Rastrelli
led the race for nine laps. “It was something
I have never experienced before, being in the
lead for 18 minutes. It was nerve wracking but
at the same time I was riding my own race and
I felt really comfortable.” Rastrelli ended the
moto in third.
In the second moto, Rastrelli again took third
place for third overall. “I had a fifth or sixth
place start. Joel and I duked it out for the first
lap and passed Sam Rowe. John Natalie was in front
of us, so we had to put a charge on him. Joel
got around him early, but it was not as easy on
me. By the time I got by him, Joel and Chad were
gone. I rode my own race and put my head down.
It was a good feeling. I had a really good race.”

This race was a huge confidence booster for Rastrelli,
proving to himself and everyone else that he has
the speed and skill to battle up front with the
top two riders that no one else has been able
to touch this season. “I am hoping to make it
a three way battle for the rest of the year. That
would be a big step in the right direction.” Rastrelli’s
third place ride was enough to move him up into
third place in the championship points as well.
JB Racing plays a huge roll in Rastrelli’s success
on the track. “JB is everything, he takes my race
bikes home and builds my practice bikes. He is
a big help,” said Rastrelli.
Rastrelli has high expectations for himself going
into Redbud and will be training hard up until
then to help make them happen. “My plan is to
get a moto win and maybe even an overall. I have
been struggling with getting an overall win and
I think Redbud would be a really good one for
me with the roughness. I will go there and try
to get another holeshot and lead the whole moto,”
explained Rastrelli.
Round ten of the 2016 AMA ATV Motocross National
Championship will be held at Redbud MX in Buchanan,
MI July 30-31.
