Piplic said he was as surprised as anyone that he swept both classes. The victories helped him regain his mojo going into the final two races of the season.
“I’ve had good luck here in the past, so I was pretty prepared, but to come out with both wins is well beyond my expectations,” said Piplic. “Coming into this race, I was really down on myself and I had lost some confidence. So to go into the break with two wins helps to motivate me.”

In the Pro race, Piplic came out third at the start and inherited the top spot on the final lap when the leader fell back with a mechanical issue. He was pleased to get his first win of the season out of the way before the summer break. The reigning WORCS champion is excited to be able to defend his title this year.

“We all want that big win, so to get that first win of the season off my shoulders is enormous,” said Piplic. “The points situation is really exciting. I always have the motivation to win, but with just 15 points in the Pro Class, I’m excited to have a chance to win another championship.”
In the Pro Unlimited race, Piplic snagged the holeshot at the start and was looking for the easy win. He overcame a front differential issue on the final lap to earn the victory.

“Once I got through the first turn, I never looked back and had clear track for the entire race,” said Piplic. “It’s so surprising because I haven’t had the best luck with my turbo. We’ve had some mechanical issues we’ve fought all year. To be 24 points ahead, I couldn’t ask for anything more. So I’m going into Glen Helen to get a finish with the hopes of clinching early.”
