Downey, CA (2/24/2016) - Murray Racing’s Jason and Derek Murray scored a finish sixth place finish in the Turbo Class at the Best in the Desert UTV World Championship. Driving the No. 917 Can-Am Maverick Turbo, the pair finished ninth overall in the brutal 140 mile long race.

The event was held on a 14-mile desert course in Laughlin, NV. Known for its high speed and technical nature, the Murray Brothers were ready in their Can-Am Maverick Max X ds Turbo
The Murrays were immediately competitive in the shotgun start, but were slowed on the first lap by mechanical issues. They rebounded and picked their way through the field to record their 40th consecutive BITD finish.

“Unfortunately we had a belt break and a flat tire on the first lap that really set us back,” said Jason Murray. “All day we were just chasing dust and trying to catch up, but we knew this was a long race. So we kept our heads in the game, kept moving forward and started picking off cars. We lost another tire at the end and it felt like we lost an axle, but the Can-Am ran really strong here.”
The Murrays have yet to DNF in BITD competition. “We’ve been doing this for six years and we’ve finished every race we started in the Best in the Desert Series,” explained Murray.
The Murrays will be back in action in just a few days, this time in SCORE competition, as they take on the San Felipe 250 in Baja, Mexico February 25-28.
