Thomas nearly took the overall victory in his normally aspirated Polaris RZR. Finishing second overall and first in class was pretty sweet, however, as it marked Thomas’ continued growth in the West Coast UTV racing scene.

“I’m stoked,” said Thomas. “We started out the season in the RZR and we’ve had some pretty good luck. So we’ll keep this going, along with the Pro Lite truck.”

Thomas finished second overall in the race just behind a turbocharged machine. The turbos definitely had the edge here on the flat out and technical Laughlin racing circuit. The entry list included 103 UTVs so the race was run on the full 14-mile course for four laps for the 56-mile race. There were unprecedented seven rows of entries for the special event.
“To finish second overall behind a turbo is pretty nice,” said Thomas. “I’m happy with how we finished. It was super dusty as usual. We prepared for it. There are so many people here and it was tough battling the sun and the traffic.
Thomas has a full bill of racing on his agenda
coming up. He’s leading the WORCS Championship
points with three consecutive podiums, and he
is also racing a Pro Lite Truck in the Lucas Oil
Series this year.
