Mystic Lubricants' Mickey Thomas Second at South Point WORCS

Las Vegas, NV (3/2/2016) - Mystik Lubricant’s Mickey Thomas literally had miles to go before he slept as he snagged a second-place finish in the WORCS Pro Side by Side race at South Point Casino. His third consecutive podium pads his growing points lead in the 2016 title chase.

The race in itself was unique. Held in South Point’s three horse arenas, as well as the grounds surrounding the hotel and casino, the course combined big air, log jams, big tire obstacles with tunnels made from shipping containers with multiple racing surfaces, including sand, dirt, clay, asphalt, and concrete.

Thomas, though, had to hit to road to get the runner-up prize. Starting out Saturday at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, CA, Thomas competed in the Lucas Oil Truck Series race. He then made the several hundred mile trip to Las Vegas just in time for the 9:45 p.m. start of the WORCS event.
“This race was late in the evening so we had just enough time to race the truck at the Glen Helen regional then we hustled over here for this race,” said Thomas. “I didn’t even take off my race suit. It was a good day all around.”

Thomas actually finished physically first, but fell to second due to the time adjustment from the four-line start. His second place finish did extend his points lead to twelve points in the WORCS Pro SXS Championship points race
“I’m still chasing my first WORCS win, but I’m happy,” said Thomas. “We extended the points lead. Unfortunately for the next race at Lake Havasu, there is a truck race the same weekend, so we need to make a choice.”
After another impressive showing at South Point
Casino, Thomas is now competed to racing at the
Lake Havasu WORCS double header on March 18-20th,
and he will be going for his first WORCS win.
