Pro UTV WORCS Points
WORCS Racing - Round
Nine - Glen Helen Race Report
Cumming, GA (9/22/2016) - Mystik Lubricants’ Mickey Thomas retained the points lead in the WORCS Racing Series SXS Pro class after bad luck took him out of the lead at Glen Helen Raceway. Thomas now has a two-point advantage in the championship going into the final round in Nevada.

Despite
finishing seventh, Mickey Thomas still holds
down the WORCS Pro SxS Points lead heading
into the final round |
Thomas took the lead at the start, but a mechanical issue took him out of the contention at the start of the race. He fixed the car and drove back through the field to finish seventh.

Mickey Thomas also chose to run the SxS Pro Unlimited Class where he finished tenth |
“I was running first for the first two laps, but we broke a belt and I finished seventh,” said Thomas. “We’re in championship right now with five other guys and it’s all going to come down to this last round. Everyone else had problems, so it worked out well for me.”
Interestingly, Thomas hadn’t planning to run the entire WORCS Series this year, but good results in the first round made him change his mind. Now he’s on the verge of winning the title.
“We kind of fell into this,” explained Thomas. “We ran the first race and did well, so we kept with it and here are battling for the championship. I’d like to get a championship so we’ll have to keep working for it.”
Thomas will be busy during the next month, with races in the Lucas Oil Series and Terracross before the final WORCS race October 21-23 at Buffalo Bills Resort and Casino in Primm, NV.
