Track Series is fast approaching Round 5 which
is the biggest event of the season for the NE-EDT
series on the weekend of July 22nd-24th
The 47th annual ATV race at Pine Lake Raceway
is set for July 23rd and 24th in Ashtabula, Ohio.
Heats will be on Saturday July 23rd and main events
occur on Sunday July 24th. This is the longest
running ATV race that all started in 1969. All
4 generations of ATV’s are expected to be competing
at Pine Lake which include 6 wheelers, 3 wheelers,
ATV’s and Side by Sides. The history of this historic
track includes so many great riders and legends
of racing over the years that have raced and competed
on this track during one point of their career.
This is by far one of the countries largest ATV
EDT racing events and is one you don’t want to
miss. Racers traveled from as far away as California
and also have come down from Canada in 2015 to
compete is this once a year event that is held
in July of every year and is expected to grow
even larger this year..
The exciting track offers riders a long straightaway
leading into a big sweeping turn off the start.
After coming out of the sweeper and into a right
hand turn the riders were split going over the
table top until the hard left hand turn leading
into the polish hill. The polish hill is followed
by hard right and left hand turns leading into
Pine Lake’s signature gravity bowl that sends
the riders back into the straight. The track has
developed over the years into from what was first
known as TT racing into what has now become known
as Extreme Dirt Track Racing.
Pine Lake has become a little more than just
another race with its famous lake that riders
can jump in for a swim afterwards and for all
the gatherings by the campfires in the park like
setting Saturday night. NEEDT will be holding
its 3rd annual bike race Saturday after the heats
also for the youth age 14 and younger. You definitely
don’t want to miss this event.
The fastest ATV EDT Pro Class in the country will
be competing in this event. Multi-National AMA
EDT and 2014 NEEDT Pro Champion Brad Riley, 2015
NEEDT Pro Champion Chuckie Creech, 2x Pro North
East EDT Pro Champion Brian Ace, Aaron Medlin,
Tiffer Bures, 2015 Pro/am Champion Michael J.
Houghton Jr, Andrew Evanyke, Tim Dettling, Garrett
Ryckman, 2015 Pro-lite Champion Nate Dawydko,
Steve LaGro and more are all set to compete for
the B&B Racing Engines Pro Championship at
this years event. This is the countries premier
EDT Pro Class and some of the countries fastest
and best amateurs are also all set to be there.
You can expect to see 2015 Pine Lake winner Daryl
Rath compete against some of the fastest 3 wheelers
riders in the country also which is one of the
only events where you see a full gate of 20 3
wheelers racing towards the first corner. You
will also witness a blast from the past as 6 wheelers
take the course in something that you don’t see
every day. The riders from youth to pro that compete
in the series are often found on the podium at
national, local and regional events and they all
square off together as they chase the NEEDT 2016
Championships in some of the most exciting races
in all of EDT Racing.
