Zimmerman has been putting in the work during his training and it paid off at Spring Creek. “I felt great on Friday in practice and during all four motos from the training I have been doing, but I just could not make it happen,” explained Zimmerman.

The speed and intensity of the top competitors in Zimmerman’s class is so close that it really comes down the starts and who gets out front first. “I got second or third out of every holeshot and just battled the whole race.”

Zimmerman gave it is all trying to make his way to first, but he just could not quite get by the leader and ran into an issue on the track during his final moto. “The last moto in Schoolboy Sr., they watered the face of the first uphill triple, so I cased it pretty bad.”

Spring Creek is known for becoming quite rough and challenging, but most riders agree that it is one of the better events on the series. “It is awesome. I love the track and the weather is great. The scenery is awesome and it just has a great vibe,” said Zimmerman of the Spring Creek facility.

Zimmerman was prepared for the rough, sandy conditions with his great setup. “The Elka suspension through the rollers was just flawless, and in the starts the Maxxis tires and PR2 motor just worked together perfectly.”

Zimmerman will next compete close to home during round nine of the 2016 AMA ATV Motocross National Championship at Unadilla MX in New Berlin, NY July 16-17.
