In Youth All Star, Zimmerman put in a strong heat race ride on Saturday, taking the win. “The PR2 motor yanked me some starts, the Maxxis tires hooked up perfect, and the Elka’s worked awesome,” said Zimmerman. In moto two, Zimmerman took third for third place overall. He maintained second place in the championship points.

In Schoolboy Sr., Zimmerman again had a strong first moto performance. “I made fourth out of the start and made some quick passes to second. I passed Troy for the lead but the last lap my fuel got hot and caused my machine to spit and sputter, so he passed me back and I got second. It was a bummer,” said Zimmerman.

On the second moto of Schoolboy Sr., Zimmerman ran into some mechanical issues again causing him to take eleventh in the moto and sixth overall. Zimmerman is second in the championship points.

Despite the hard luck at Unadilla, Zimmerman found positive things to say about the track and the remainder of the season. “The track had a cool layout and I had a good time. Going into Redbud the goal is to win and see if I can get closer to the points and come out with a championship. I am going to put my head down and charge and see what I can do. It is motocross so anything can happen with the points,” explained Zimmerman.

Zimmerman will compete at the tenth round of the 2016 AMA ATV Motocross National Championship at Redbud MX in Buchanan, MI July 30-31, where he will be aiming for the win.
