Lititz, PA (4/12/2016) - Peyton
Zimmerman competed in round two of the AMA ATV Motocross
National Championship at Underground MX in Kemp,
Texas. Zimmerman took sixth place in Youth All Star,
and fourth place in Schoolboy Sr.
Zimmerman came into round two after a big win
at the Daytona Supercross, and was looking for
a repeat performance. Unfortunately, a mechanical
issue in the first moto of Youth All Star took
Zimmerman out of the race on the third lap, halting
his run to the podium. He rebounded in the second
moto with a solid second place finish, which allowed
him to salvage sixth place overall.

“In the second moto Troy (Hill) and I battled
it out. I had last gate pick due to my mechanical
failure on the first moto and came out about fourth
in the start. I worked up to second place. I was
gaining on Troy, but I made a mistake, and he
ended up taking the win.”
New for Zimmerman this year was creating his
own race program. Zimmerman now rides a Honda
with a 250 motor and bigger chassis to prepare
him for the jump to 450’s next season. He enjoys
working independently and choosing the brands
that work best for him.
“This year we branched off on our own. We get
to run all the brands we want to run. I like having
our own atmosphere. Amped Apparel is helping us
with tents and merchandise to keep us looking
fresh. I am running PR2 motors, Maxxis tires,
and Elka suspension. It is all working flawless.”
Zimmerman also competed in the Schoolboy Sr.
class. Due to mechanical issues, Zimmerman had
to ride a borrowed machine and still managed to
take an impressive fourth place finish.
“I am looking forward to battling all season,
It is going to be a good one,” stated Zimmerman.
Zimmerman will compete in the third round of
the AMA ATV Motocross National Championship at
Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, TN April 23-24,
where he will be fighting for the win.
