Tempe, AZ (10/5/2016) - After last-minute phone call, a late night flight and a quick learning curve, Pro Motorsports racer Matthew Hancock finished third in the 2016 Mystik Lubricants Terracross Championship. Hancock made his debut season count, finishing the year with three consecutive podiums in the RZR XP 1000 Racer Class at the season finale near Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC.

Hancock was dejected when he had difficulties in his first start in the series at Hay Days in Minnesota. But like any true racer, the WORCS and BITD desert veteran summoned that inner competitive strength and came out swinging in the muddy North Carolina round.
“I got to Hay Days and it was an event like I’d never seen before,” said Hancock. “I went home after Hay Days frustrated because I knew that I could do better, and everything came together for me in Jacksonville by claiming podium finishes in all three rounds to end the season, which boosted me to top three in the points championship.”

Hancock was all business in the Pro RZR Class.
After three mid-pack starts, he was second
in the first race and finished third in the
other two events.
“I pulled off a second after starting in the middle of the pack in the first race and that really helped boost my confidence,” said Hancock. “The Open Trail Polaris RZR was great in the next race. People were breaking and wrecking all around me, but I drove my race the way I knew I could, and I pulled a third. In the final race, I knew I had to beat Ray Bulloch, so I pushed it. I had a great battle with Brian McClean from Walker Evans and came out third.”

Hancock was excited to get the call just
two days before the season opener. He was
glad he could deliver on his reputation.
“I have to thank Harlen Foley, ATVRiders.com, Joe Duncan and Open Trail,” said Hancock. “I got a last-minute call from Harlen two days before the last race. He said ‘We have a car, and we need a driver.’ I said: ‘I’m your driver.’ I soon found out that this was a very different discipline of racing than I’m used to. I’m glad to deliver.”
Pro Motorsports and Hancock will be back in action as the WORCS Series finishes out its 2016 season October 21-23 at Buffalo Bills Resort and Casino in Primm, NV.
