Tempe, AZ (2/5/2016) - Pro Motorsports’ Matt Hancock earned another sixth-place finish in Round 2 of the WORCS Pro ATV Championship at Buffalo Bill’s Casino and Resort. Hancock finished ninth in the Pro Side by Side race.
Hancock stepped up to Pro ATV this year and knows he has enough for the podium. Speaking more like a veteran than a rookie, Hancock was hard on himself and knows he has more in the tank.

“I don’t know what happened today,” said Hancock. “The bike was perfect, I felt smooth and I was riding smooth. I just felt like I was two gears too slow. I just wasn’t feeling myself. I haven’t been able to ride as much as I’d like to get ready.”
Hancock said his bike was perfect and blamed himself for not finishing on the podium.
“The bike was running perfectly,” said Hancock. “Doug Roll got my Elka suspension working awesome. The Sparks motor and the Maxxis Tires got me off to a fourth-place start, so you can’t ask for anything more than that. The Tire Blocks held up great. This track was rough, but the Elka Suspension really worked well.”
Hancock will turn up the wick on his training regimen before Round 3.
“I have a couple weeks before the next race to train,” said Hancock. “I’m going to work super hard for the Las Vegas race. I want a podium finish and I’ll be ready.”
In the Side by Side race, after winning the holeshot, the power steering failed on Hancock’s RZR and he held on for the top 10.

“The Maxxis Tires and Sparks Motor ripped me off to a huge holeshot,” said Hancock. “It was key to stay up front and I pulled a decent lead. The power steering went out on the first lap and it was hard to turn. I kept a good run going, but I wasn’t able to make the lines I wanted, so I had to slow my pace. My goal is to win the championship and I didn’t want to blow that in one race. So I hung on for some points and we’ll take it to the next race.
“The Walker Evans shocks were working great,” added Hancock. “I couldn’t have gone as fast as I did without them. The Tire Blocks and Method wheels also held on after I hit some rocks.”
Hancock will be gunning for the podium as WORCS heads to Las Vegas for Round 3 February 26-28.
