Pro Motorsports’ Matthew Hancock Podiums at WORCS
WORCS Racing - Round 4 - Lake Havasu, Arizona

Tempe, AZ (3/24/2016) - Pro Motorsports’ Matthew Hancock rolled out his two-year old practice Polaris RZR and finished third in the WORCS Side by Side Pro Unlimited race at Crazy Horse Campground. Jeff Hancock finished eighth in the Pro ATV Race.

The event was held under sunny skies and with temperatures in the 90s on a course known for its gnarly nature. So the race was definitely a difficult one for both the racers and their machines.

Sparks Racing’s Matthew Hancock, who finished 11th in the Pro SxS race after having a mechanical issue, didn’t decide to race the Unlimited race until the day before. With little preparation, Hancock drove the naturally-aspirated machine to a third-place finish in a class dominated by turbos.

“We sprayed it off, checked the air in the tires and went racing; we didn’t prep it all,” said Hancock. “I was having a blast out there. There was no pressure and I was just having fun. There’s always so much pressure out there, so it was nice to just have some fun.

“The last time I raced this car was two years ago, but I wasn’t too worried about jumping in it,” added Hancock. “It’s a non-turbo and I went out in a turbo class and almost won it. We put all of this time into this other car and that’s the one I have a problem, and this one never missed a beat.”

Jeff Hancock, who fell out of the Pro SXS race with a broken axle, suffered from heat-related problems during the ATV Pro race. He drove hard to finish eighth.

“I did great at the start, but I had to pull into the pits, get a drink of water and go back out,” said Hancock. “I thought I was in a little better shape, but obviously I wasn’t. The bike ran amazing and the suspension worked great. Right after my race Saturday, I went to a wedding in Prescott and then came back this morning to ride. That probably was a bad decision.”

Pro Motorsports and the Hancocks will return to action April 15-17 as WORCS heads to Sand Hollow in Utah.
