Galena, IL (8/15/2016) - The
AMA ATV Pro MX National Circuit invaded Loretta
Lynn's Ranch this past weekend for the inaugural
round of racing where Wienen Motorsports'
Chad Wienen salvaged a 2-2 finish to take
second overall for the weekend.

Chad Wienen finished 2nd Overall at
Loretta Lynn's ATV MX |
Morning practices went just as Wienen would
have wanted as he came out with the ATVRiders.com
Fastest Qualifier Award.
As the gate dropped for moto 1, Wienen found
himself pinched off towards the first turn
and came out just inside the top ten. By the
third turn he had moved up just outside the
top five but before making it out of the corner,
the rider in front of Wienen went up on his
front wheels and his back end sat down on
the front end of Wienen's quad. Both riders
had to get off of their machines to break
loose and by the time Wienen got back on his
quad he was over 20 seconds behind the front
of the field.

Sitting in fifteenth at the end of lap one,
Wienen went to work and put in an intense
charge. Closing the gap between him and the
rest of the field, Wienen moved into the 12th
position by the end of the second lap. Wienen
continued to move forward each lap and sat
in ninth on lap three, seventh on lap four,
and sixth by halfway through the moto. Determined
not to loose anymore points on the championship
he continued to press forward and surprising
the Tennessee crowd, Wienen moved into third
with four laps to go, closed the gap between
himself and the rider in second and found
a way into second with two laps to go. It
was a hard fought moto but Wienen put everything
he had into salvaging as many points as he
could.
As the gate dropped for moto 2, Wienen got
off to a much better start and came out of
the first turn in second. Pushing forward,
Wienen moved into first before the end of
the first lap. After maintaining the lead
for two laps, Wienen fell back into second
where he rode out the remainder of the moto.

Wienen holds a 16 point lead heading
into the final round of racing at Soaring
Eagle on September 9th |
"The first moto was an insane push to
fight my way into the second place position,
I recovered well and felt good going into
moto 2 but I knew I had exerted more energy
than I had liked and did not feel comfortable
running the pace out front. I fell back into
second and was able to ride more comfortably
to salvage second place. It was as good as
win for me this past weekend considering how
the first moto started out. I have one thing
on my mind and that is to be holding that
red plate at the end of the last round."
Said Wienen.
With one more round of racing left in the
2016 circuit, Wienen maintains a 16 point
lead on the championship title chase as the
AMA ATV MX Pro National Championship takes
a few weeks off before the season concludes
at Soaring Eagle Casino on Friday September
9.
