Galena, IL (8/3/2017) - With
two races left to go for the AMA ATV MX National
Championship, the series took on Red Bud MX
in Buchannan, Michigan this past weekend where
Wienen Motorsports' Chad Wienen went 2-2 for
2nd overall for the weekend.

Chad Wienen claimed his 4th ATVriders.com
Fastest Qualifier Award of the season

The gates dropped in moto 1 and Wienen found
himself in 5th place coming through the first
turn. Knowing he had to make quick work of
the field to work his way up to the front,
Wienen made his way into third before the
end of the first lap. Continuing to push forward,
Wienen moved into second before the end of
the third lap but with a 4 second gap between
himself and the rider in first, Wienen was
unable to make any advances on the field and
finished moto 2 in second.

As the gate dropped in moto 2, Wienen once
again found himself with an uncommon start
for himself and came around the first turn
outside of the top 10. Again, knowing he had
no time to waste Wienen quickly went to work
and managed to move up into the fourth place
position by the end of the first lap. After
moving into third on the second lap, Wienen
had to close a gap between him and the rider
in second and managed to move into second
by lap 5. Once in second, Wienen had a seven
second gap between himself and the rider in
first and although he started closing down
the gap, Wienen was unable to make up a significant
amount of time and came across the checkers
with a three second gap between himself and
the rider who took first.

"This past weekend at Red Bud my team
worked so hard to go and fight for that top
spot. I gave everything I had to get in the
position for a win but I just didn't have
what it took at the gates. With two motos
to go we are going to keep our titles hopes
alive and work to gain max points heading
into the season finale. Thank you to my support
group for everything they do and continue
to do as we push forward for the 2017 season."
Said Wienen.
Wienen heads to the last round of racing on
August 12 at Loretta Lynn's MX in Hurricane
Mills, Tenn. with an eleven point deficient
on the 2017 series championship points chase.
