$2,500 for the Overall Win at the WORCS
SxS World Finals |
The unique event featured a doubleheader
race format with a short course event on Saturday,
followed by a traditional WORCS off road race
on Sunday. Weather was unpredictable during
the weekend. Rain canceled qualifying on Friday.
Saturday’s race was run under ideal conditions
with blue skies and temperatures in the 50s.
Sunday’s race was plagued with heavy rain,
sleet and frigid temperatures.
In the end, nothing held back Bradbury and
his brand new Polaris RZR XP Turbo. He led
several laps of the short course race before
finishing a close second. Sunday, he ran away
with the race, leading every lap. The combined
finishes, as well as his fast time, placed
him first overall and handed him the $2,500
bonus.
Bradbury was thankful for the extra power
afforded by his new #22 Polaris Turbo in Sunday’s
race. Bradbury joined Polaris for this season
and is running both Pro and Pro Stock in the
WORCS series, as well as select Best in the
Desert races.

“I was in my 2017 Polaris RZR Turbo and as
soon as the boost hit, I was four cars out
in front of everyone,” said Bradbury. “I ran
the first lap flat out to see how everyone
was running. I had a good gap from there and
cruised from there. It was rough on Sunday.
It was important to get a good start because
the track was beat. There were rivers running
down the rhythm lanes.”
Bradbury ran a special suspension setup on
his RZR in the short course race. Utilizing
a shorter travel shock from Walker Evans,
he was the man to beat and just lost the lead
after the mandated competition caution.
“I tried to run a smooth race and the new
Walker Evans shocks I installed helped a lot
today,” explained Bradbury. “These shocks
were designed with shorter shafts to work
specifically with this type of short course.
We were able to drive into the corners a little
deeper and hold it a little longer.”

SXS World Finals on Sunday to take the
Overall Win |
Bradbury’s program has grown quite a bit
since last season. Along with Polaris and
Walker Evans shocks and wheels, he welcomed
new title sponsor Wholesale Capital, as well
as GBC tires, Grant steering wheels, Gates
Belts, DASA exhaust and engine work. Holz
Racing built his Polaris.
Bradbury goes into the next round with the
points lead. He’s excited to start out the
year with a victory and plans to carry that
momentum forward.
“The first round always seems to be my Achilles
heel,” said Bradbury. “So it would be nice
to have the points lead going into round two.”
Bradbury will be back in action and back
in front as the WORCS series heads to Honolulu
Hills Raceway in Taft, CA February 17-19.
