Kyle Chaney's Wild Boar GNCC XC1 UTV Race Report

Pataskala, OH (3/15/2017) - Can-Am/XPS Lubricants/CT Race Worx driver Kyle Chaney kicked off the 2017 GNCC season with a third-place finish in XC1 Pro UTV at the Wild Boar in Palatka, FL. Chaney drove his Can-Am Maverick through severely rough conditions to nab his best start in his GNCC career.

Chaney led most of the race from the front row and finished second physically and third overall on adjusted time. Despite a tangle with a fellow competitor on the last lap, he starts the season third in points.

“I had the physical lead for most of the day,” said Chaney. “Three of us battled all day. Another driver and I got together at the end, but I made it to the finish. This is my best start to the season and I’m happy with it. The track was way rougher than last year.”

Chaney returns to GNCC this season with a similar program to last year. He also welcomes new sponsor XPS Lubricants and has the competitive advantage provided by a rollcage reworked by CT Race Worx.

“We took some weight off of the car, nearly 30 lbs, and I went to XPS oil this year,” said Chaney. “CT RaceWorx made my cage a little shorter so I could see a little better and it lowered the center of gravity. Other than that, it is pretty much the same car as last year. I got Can-Am up on the box and I’m happy about that.”

Chaney will get to start on the front row when GNCC holds its next UTV race on April 22-23. That race is being held at Moree’s Sportsman’s Preserve in Society Hill, SC.
