Kyle Chaney Takes TORC Pro
Mod Points Lead at ERX
TORC Pro Modified
UTV Report • Round 3 Twin Cities Take Down
Pataskala, OH (6/13/2017) -
Can-Am/XPS Lubricants/CT Race Worx driver Kyle
Chaney scored his third consecutive runner-up
finish during the TORC Off Road Series Pro Modified
UTV race at ERX Motor Park. Chaney’s consistency
handed him the points lead in the class.
The event was held at the purpose-built track
just west of Minneapolis. Consisting of sand,
dirt and loamy soil, the circuit featured several
jumps, tight turns, a technical rhythm area and
a split lane section. The race was originally
part of a doubleheader weekend, but due to damaging
thunderstorms on day two, that race has been postponed
to the season finale in September.

Chaney did everything he could to pass eventual
winner Rodney VanEperen during the race. Utilizing
several different lines, Chaney pulled even with
VanEperen’s rear bumper several times, but settled
for the close second.
“In the first corner of the race, my radiator
got packed full of sand and I started overheating,”
explained Chaney. “I tried to stay out of his
roost in the first part of the race to keep the
front of my car clean so I could put together
a late-race charge. I got right up to him, but
he was just driving too well and was protecting
that inside line.”

Though he’s still after that first victory of
the season, Chaney knows that consistency wins
championships. Of all three points leaders this
season, Chaney has shown the most consistency,
not only finishing every race, but finishing second
in all three.
“We’ll get that win eventually and we’re not
worried,” said Chaney. “We’ve been consistent
and we’re after a championship.”
Chaney again relied on Maxxis Ceros tires during
the race. With hot and breezy conditions at the
venue, the track quickly dried out and changed
throughout the 14-lap event. Despite that, the
tires were perfect from start to finish.

weeks at the Crandon doubleheader, June
24-25th |
“The Maxxis Ceros was the perfect choice this
weekend,” said Chaney. “Maxxis offers so many
different choices, which makes it much easier
to find the perfect tire for all race conditions.
Maxxis makes the best tires out there.”
Chaney will next compete in the TORC Series June
24-25 during the Big House Brawl at Crandon International
Off-Road Raceway in Crandon, WI. He will then
head to the weather-postponed John Penton GNCC
race in Ohio July 8-9.
