in the WORCS Pro Stock SXS Championship |
In the Pro Stock, Hancock was battling with
two cars on the final lap and took second
just feed from the finish. The runner-up finish
handed him second in points and marked his
third consecutive podium and fifth of the
season.
“I made it back to second on the very last
few feet,” said Hancock. “That put me second
in points. It was so unbelievably competitive
this year. The Pro Stock class is a ton of
fun because the cars are so similar. That
pass was the difference maker in the points.
That was a big pass.”

Hancock was again running Elka’s new 3.0
shocks here. Along with the Maxxis Tires,
and Sparks engine and clutching, the new suspension
has made a huge difference for Hancock.
“I’ve been on the box for the last three
races, I’ve led laps, and I’ve gotten holeshots,”
said Hancock. “I have to give that all to
Elka Suspension. Maxxis Tires and Sparks have
given me holeshots. Curtis Sparks gets these
clutches so dialed in.”
Doug Roll from Elka chose Hancock and Beau
Baron to help develop the new shocks. He said
Hancock’s progress this season was nothing
short of remarkable.
“I don’t know if it’s confidence, but Matt
has changed this year,” said Roll. “I don’t
think anyone has progressed as much as Matt
this year.”

1000 Stock Class Championship at Glen
Helen |
Fresh off clinching the SXS 1000 Stock title
at the last race, Dihel wasn’t content to
hang back in the season finale. He took the
holeshot and led every lap to finish the year
with his seventh victory of the season.

Dihel grabbed the holeshot & held
on to claim his 7th Win of the season |
“I wanted to get one good finish in before
I move up next year,” said Dihel. “The track
got rough at the end of the day, and I knew
I had to get the holeshot because passing
wasn’t going to be easy. I watched the flag,
got the holeshot and stayed out front. I switched
to the new Elka 3.0 shocks and that was a
big help. It took a lot of worry out of the
race and the car handled really well.”
Hancock and Dihel plan to return to the WORCS
Series next season. The season opener is scheduled
for February 2-4 at The Orleans in Las Vegas.
