Seth Quintero Overcomes Collision at Iron Mine WORCS
Seth Quintero's Iron Mine WORCS SXS Race Report

San Marcos, CA (5/25/2017) - After a rocky start, Seth Quintero showed experience beyond his years to finish the WORCS SXS 1000 Stock race at Iron Mine Race Park in Cedar City, UT. The 14-year-old driver finished 12th in the race after a collision took out his steering at the start.

Quintero got a good jump at the start, but carnage struck early and he was hit on both sides. The hard contact bent his steering rack, took out his power steering system and his front differential. Despite the obvious competitive disadvantage, Quintero fought his way to the finish.

“I got sandwiched between two other cars at the start and that bent my steering rack,” said Quintero. “I dealt with it and got that finish. My power steering went out and my front diff was out too; my arms are killing me right now. There were a lot of broken cars in the class, but I got the finish. I’m just pumped I salvaged all the points we could.”

Though his Polaris RZR was damaged from the collision, Quintero’s finish shows just how competitive his car was before the crash.

“Everything else felt great,” said Quintero. “The rear end worked great thanks to Benchmark Performance. The Walker Evans Suspension kept me smooth through the whoops. The BFGoodrich Tires had no flats and I had traction everywhere.”

The WORCS Series next heads to Glen Helen Raceway. The track is within two hours of Quintero’s house and he has plenty of experience there.

“Glen Helen is my home track,” said Quintero. “I’m so fortunate to live close by. We have two rounds there and we’re hoping for good races. We’ll the car prepped, come back for Glen Helen and see what we can do.”

Quintero will put his experience to the test as he hits Glen Helen’s tough circuit during Father’s Day Weekend June 16-18.
