Granlund only entered Saturday’s Pro race
to get a better look at the track prior to
the Pro Stock race. Due to wicked weather
on Friday, practice was canceled. After the
initial start was waived off, Granlund was
quick off the line on the restart and went
on to finish second.
“I pretty much went out to the see the track
for the Pro Stock race tomorrow and I wanted
to get a top-20 finish so I could sign up
early for the Orleans race,” said Granlund.
“I ran GBC’s Grim Reaper tires and my car
ran well off the line. I like GBC because
they have so many different tires and it makes
it easy to get the right tire for the conditions.
Off the line my Weller exhaust and Tuned ignition
helped a lot. It was rough and choppy, but
the Fox shocks were working so well.”

In Sunday’s Pro Stock race, Granlund finished
out the weekend by running a strong third
for the entire race. Granlund’s third consecutive
podium puts him first in points.
“It’s been a good weekend and a great start
to the year,” said Granlund. “Today I went
out and got a decent start. It was kind of
dusty, and I was getting roosted a bit, so
I backed off a little. Then I caught back
up, I hit a really bad kicker and I had a
really scary moment. I got a love tap from
behind and I started driving defensively.
The car was working great. Putting the Yamaha
up on the podium is always a good thing.”

After winning both motos in a DIRT Series
race last weekend, Granlund brought his car
to STV Motorsports to prep for the WORCS weekend.
With a super competitive car already, the
team merely made minor tweaks on the Yamaha.
“Andrei from STV has been great,” said Granlund.
“We just had the car in there last week. The
main thing we’re doing now is cutting weight.
We’re just fine-tuning a great product in
this Yamaha.”
