2015 Arctic Cat XR 550 Limited Introduction

Inspired by the feedback of its loyal customers, Arctic Cat rolls into 2015 with a trio of all-new Arctic Cat XR 550 models featuring new chassis and bodywork, the most accessory-friendly rack system, plus greater comfort and handling.

Arctic Cat’s customer-led approach to theArctic Cat XR models resulted in a longer 52-in. wheelbase and new swaybar-equipped rear suspension geometry, giving the Arctic Cat XR 700 an improved ride quality that complements the 10 inches of front/rear travel and 11 inches of ground clearance.

To improve rider comfort and ergonomics, Arctic Cat revised the rider cockpit by adding more foot room; implemented new reduced-effort steering geometry; and narrowed the bodywork while retaining a low ride height.

To simplify hauling key gear and accessories, The Arctic Cat XR features new plastic SpeedRack II front and rear racks with the Speed- Lock and SpeedBuckle integrated accessory attachment system. With 100/200-lb. capacities and secure, rubber-coated surfaces, these racks are ready for adventure, with the ability to quickly attach or remove a wide array of useful accessories.

All three models are powered by the smooth and powerful liquid-cooled 545cc Arctic Cat H1 engine and its Duramatic Automatic transmission with Park, High, Low, Neutral and Reverse. It’s best-in-class power has been further refined with a new closed-loop EFI system. Plus a new sound reduction system on the clutch system further enhances the engine’s smoothness while delivering a 8-decibel reduction in sound.

Stepping up from the base model Arctic Cat XR 550, the Arctic Cat XR XR 550 XT EPS comes equipped with Arctic Cat’s Variable Assist Electronic Power Steering (EPS). This system begins at key-on to deliver varying levels of assist based on steering input force, tire resistance and vehicle speed, all controlled by an ECU. The result is light steering input effort, especially when in 4WD with a locked differential, but with enough feedback that the rider senses the tire contact with the terrain. The XT package also includes aluminum wheels and the halogen/LED headlight system.

The Limited package offers yet another upgrade. In addition to EPS and aluminum wheels, it come with full dualprojector beam LED headlights; a 3,000-lb. winch; front and rear brush guards.
