Ride Review
::Continued::
After spending the morning capturing some photos from around town and getting our registration, rain moved into the area, so we waited till late afternoon to head out on our ride hoping for drier weather. Around 4PM, we unloaded the Yamaha Rhino and Grizzly in the Flying Saddle Resort parking lot and drove right from the resort to the trail head just two miles down the road.

We chose to explore the Stewart Trail which is located in the Bridger National Forest |
Once we arrived, we checked out the wood trail map sign at the large parking lot / staging area, and noticed the Stewart Trail on the map, so with just a few hours of riding before dark, we figured we would take a loop trail, so we would be back before sunset

The Stewart Trail started out on gravel & dirt roads which makes the trail and campsites along the Gray River accessible to campers & trucks |
The trail starts out much like a road, all dirt and gravel. The trail is accessible for campers and trucks because there are many beautiful campsites along the Grey’s river. After riding down the gravel road along the river for several miles, we finally arrived at the Stewart Trail, and noticed that the trail had just opened up for riding on July 1st, which was just a few days ago, so we lucked out this time, and for future reference the trail is only open from 7/1 till 9/10 because it takes till summer for the snow melt and it closes early for hunting season.

Once we hit the Stewart Trail head we began to climb in elevation. The trails were no longer gravel roads but true off-road trails with beautiful scenery |
Immediately at the Stewart Trail head, we began our ascent up the mountain as we gained several thousand feet in elevation heading to the top of the mountain, and unlike the smooth two lane gravel roads along the rivers, it was a true one lane trail with plenty of rocks and ruts from the recent summer snow melt, but nothing was too extreme or very difficult to maneuver over during our ride to top, and I would rate the trail as a moderate difficulty, and for us, the obstacles added to the fun factor of our adventure ride.

As the trail began to ascend up into the mountains you had to keep an eye on the trail as it ran along some cliff edges. Although the trail did get a little rough in areas, most of the trail we rode was easy to navigate |
