The
King of the Mountain ATV & UTV endurance
race is always a huge hit. There was
23 ATVs that entered the race but only
12 finished. The UTVs also had some
troubles finishing the race with 19
entries and only 5 finished the grueling
race |
Sunday was the big day for the
races which had big payouts. First up was the
King of the Mountain ATV endurance race. The
race had quite a exchanges for the lead but
only one racer finally came out on top and took
his claim of the purse. Once the ATV’s
cleared the course it was time for the side
by side race and nineteen of them showed up
ready to do battle. At the end of the 3 hours
just a handful of the racers were left and a
team of two took the win after the early race
leader fell out with mechanical issues. The
viewing area for these races were packed with
on lookers enjoying the race action that had
mud, moguls, rock crossings, log climbs and
man made jumps for fan excitement.

This
year's event also featured ATV &
UTV drag races & sled pulls that
were a true test of horsepower &
speed |
After all the races on Sunday
there was a poker run for the riders that was
a little more casual. Each rider / driver rode
the trails and stop and collect cards from a
deck of playing cards. At the end of the ride
the cards were turned in to see who held the
best hand for prizes.

STI
Tires was on hand displaying a trick
looking Polaris RZR & some of their
new ATV & UTV products |
Jack
Link's Beef Jerky also set up a booth
at the roundup with their huge graphic
wrapped Ford F650 |
Also during the event, participants
were given a card that could be taken to each
the vendors and get stamped while they viewed
the products brought out for the off-road industry.
Once your card was stamped by all the vendors
it could be turned in for a drawing at some
of the door prizes compiled by many of the vendors
themselves. A Yamaha generator, GBC Tires, Parts
from Tony’s Toy’s and others were
among the treats that were given out in the
awards.
All in all, it was a very fun
filled weekend for everyone and there were quite
a few people that stayed for the entire week
and had a chance to ride the trails with a few
less people around after the main crowds left
Sunday night and Monday morning. I am very much
looking forward to the next round of fun at
Brimstone Recreation. Check out their new web
site at www.brimstonerecreation.com
