Instruct the Cast on Riding
After the cast had a little seat time on the
quads, an actual race was set up between the two
teams and one of the most memorable scenes from
the race involves a whole lot of mud. “John
went out and dug this huge mud pit for the cast
to race through, but it actually ended up in a
big mud wrestling contest,” said Krista
about her favorite segment. “They were all
covered in mud. It’s not everyday you get
to see something like that!” she concluded.
“The mud pit was really something. I worked
on that for a whole day before we filmed and it
turned out to be a really fun thing for everyone
I think,” John added.

According to cast and crew, the ATV racing episode
of “Gone Country” is a favorite among
many. “The filming schedule was really brutal
and the cast worked very hard. They were really
excited to be able to get out on the quads and
have some time to play around,” said Renfroe.
“ATV riding is a great sport whether you’re
racing or just riding the trails and I think the
show is going to let a lot of people see just
how fun quads are,” added Krista.
“I hope that everyone who sees the show,
sees how easy it can be when you learn how to
ride the right way, and see how fun it is to ride,
and want to become involved in the sport. I think
this show portrays the fun aspect of it really
well,” said John. The crew made sure that
all safety issues were covered during the show
as well, such as proper riding gear and wearing
helmets, in order to represent quads in a positive
way.

“I really have to thank Mark (Oswald) and
the cast and crew; they did a great job and were
really awesome the whole time we were there. They
treated us like royalty. It was a really great
experience for everyone,” John said enthusiastically.
Apparently John and Krista represented the sport
very well, and in return, made just as good of
an impression on everyone at CMT that has been
involved with the show. In fact, there is now
talk of possibly having John and Krista present
an award on the CMT Music Awards, entering the
stage in spectacular fashion on their quads.
The show will be on Fridays at 8:00pm ET/PT.
The show’s first episode will be aired Friday,
January 25th. You can check out photos, a video
teaser, and information about the cast and more
