Cozumel, Mexico - We all dream
about those trips that we will always remember.
For me, my best friend and now fiance this would
be one of them. The plan was for my girlfriend and
I to take a 5 day vacation in Cozumel, Mexico for
our four year anniversary. While in Cozumel we also
wanted to ride ATVs or UTVs, little did she know
I was going to propose to here down there as well.
The trip began by catching a 2-hour plane ride
from Indianapolis to Charlotte, NC for a very
short layover, and then we were off to Cancun,
Mexico. After we landed in Cancun, we waited anxiously
for our luggage as many bags were collected and
were on their way to an ocean paradise. Soon the
luggage stopped coming out to be collected and
baggage claim became vacant with our bag no were
to be seen!
After a nervous conversation with US Airways
they assured us that our bag was on the next flight
from Charlotte, NC and it just missed our plane
due to the short layover. Luckily they said that
would hand deliver our bag to our hotel by 6’oclock
that night so that we did not have to wait around
at the airport for our bag. The problem was it
was around 11 AM & we still had catch a bus,
ferry, and a taxi to get to our hotel in Cozumel.

Park
Royal Resort & Hotel has one of the
best views on Cozumel island |
Only after traveling literally by land, air,
and sea, we arrived at Park Royal Hotel &
Resort where we settled in with what we had packed
away in our carry on bags. The island of Cozumel
is known for its beautiful beaches and crystal
clear water, so naturally that is where we headed
first after our luggage arrived. We spent the
first night on the beach and decks that hung over
the water watching the sun go down and the crew
ships take off into the sunset.
