Moab, UT - Moab, Utah is one of the most scenic and popular destinations in the west for off-road adventures, and is also the home of High Point Hummer and ATV; the first establishment in the area to offer off-road vehicle rentals and tours.
High Point Hummer was the vision of Scott McFarland, who left his job as a minor league baseball trainer in the Dominican Republic over 15 years ago, and moved to Moab, UT to start the first rental and tour business in the area.
At the time there were no places in Moab to rent ATV’s or other off-road vehicles and McFarland saw his window of opportunity to create a place where tourists who were not necessarily planning on an off-road style vacation to be able to experience the beauty and excitement of the area, even if they were not equipped with the proper vehicle.

“It all started for me when I was back in college. I was doing snowmobile tours part time for another company and I realized that I would rather be doing something outdoors than be stuck in an office all day long. After college, I was working as a trainer for the minor leagues down in the Dominican Republic for a couple of years, but I loved Moab because for me it is the ultimate outdoors area, so I moved to Moab and started doing some guided tours and it just took off from there,” stated McFarland.

Although Scott McFarland’s business started
out as a small operation, he has expanded to include
12 full time guides that have varied interests
and experience that gives each tour a unique perspective
and feel. “I have 12 tour guides now and
they all come from different backgrounds and have
different interests in the outdoors that allows
us to provide different types of tours to please
just about anyone,” said McFarland.
